The library of the “Chinese Studies Team” at the CRCAO boasts substantial collections of books and specialist journals on Dunhuang studies, some of which are not found elsewhere in Europe.
The library dates back to the 1970’s when the research centre was established. Some of the books originally belonged to members of the research centre. Many of them are signed and annotated, with hand-written notes by key figures in the history of Dunhuang studies.
The Book Collection on Dunhuang studies consists of as many as 3,000 volumes covering Chinese language material unique to Europe as well as English language material.
Full details of all of the books in this collection are available in the on-line catalogue of the College de France. Most items are available for reference by external researchers, on production of identification and completion of a request form.
